Dance. Music. Theater. Visual Arts.
The VAPA Foundation believes that an education infused with the arts transforms the lives of young people. Read on to learn about the work we do to connect students in the San Diego Unified School District with VAPA — visual and performing arts.
Matching Grant Challenge
Dear patron of the art,
We are pleased to inform you about a one-for-one challenge matching grant to encourage new donors to join in the VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) Foundation’s work. This matching grant has been generously underwritten by the Parker Foundation up to a total of $15,000.
While there are numerous organizations in San Diego that provide arts education programming, it is the school district that is responsible for providing a standards-based, sequential arts education for all students, and providing the resources and infrastructure that makes this happen. With the creation of the VAPA Foundation, the district intends to advocate for more community resources and distribute these resources in a more strategic, coherent, and powerful way to improve the quality, equity, and access of arts education throughout the district. There is no other organization that exists that can coordinate resources at this level and scale.
The VAPA Foundation recognizes not everyone can help right now. But for those who can, there is no time more important than now to give. The VAPA Foundation is in a crucial phase of growing its capacity to do its work so please make your donation by July 31, 2021 to qualify for the match. School events, education programs, and collaborations are only possible through the generosity of patrons like you.
