During this summer, we’ve had the pleasure to partner with the Rosin Box Project once again to bring multi-arts curriculum to Level Up summer camp students. This year, teachers from Rosin Box Project worked with students age Kindergarten to 2nd Grade. Families of these young students were especially grateful to have an arts-based learning for their students, many of whom never had taken music, dance or arts classes before!
Teachers did painting and crafts projects with the kids, introduced them to the playful side of modern ballet dance, and taught Cuban rhythms with drums and conga line dances with the help of Center for World Music. All age groups of kids learned how to sing classic Spanish folk songs. It was particularly inspiring to see them learn to project their voices before performing for their families at the end of camp!

Our collaboration with Rosin Box Project was one of many camps put on this summer with the support of San Diego Foundation, in collaboration with the San Diego Unified School District.
