VAPA Enhancement Program (VEP) FAQs

What is the VAPA Enhancement Program (VEP)?

VEP connects SDUSD teachers and students with artist residencies, field trips, professional development, assemblies, and materials that are not covered in a school's budget. The goals is to up the arts quotient in classrooms throughout the district.  Any SDUSD Tk-12 teacher may complete an application.

Who may apply?

Any currently employed Tk - 12 SDUSD teacher in good standing may submit an application. 

What do you fund?

Teachers  may apply for artist in residences,  VAPA-related professional development, field trips to museums or galleries or performances, arts assemblies, VAPA learning related materials, or musical instruments.

IMPORTANT:  Funds may not be used for activities/programs/materials covered in the school budget. 

How do I apply?

Teachers may complete an online application that will be posted on this website in late August 2018.

What are important VEP dates for 2018/2019?

Program Application Due:  October 1, 2018

Applicants Notified By:  October 26, 2018

Projects Must be Completed By: May 1, 2018

Required Final Report Due:  No later than 1 month after completion of project.
