Marty Stegeman has been a Visual Art Educator for more than 30 years. Born in Dayton, Ohio, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Specialization in Visual Art K-12 from Wright State University. While attending the University of San Diego in the Masters of Teaching and Learning program, she became the Visual Art Resource Teacher for San Diego Unified School District where she served in the Visual and Performing Arts Department for 17.5 years.
In retirement, Marty enjoys returning to her roots, teaching Transitional Kindergarten through Grade 5 at Dailard Elementary in the San Carlos neighborhood. Marty is also an Art Education Consultant currently working with the New Children’s Museum on a grant entitled Social and Emotional Learning in Art Education Curriculum awarded by ILMS. Marty is writing and illustrating a series of picture books and chipping away at an even bigger project, an historical novel.
