VAPA Foundation is seeking a term/temporary Project Manager to oversee the
implementation of an exciting new initiative funded by the Prebys Sparx grant. This role
runs from June 2025 through June 2026. The project brings expressive arts and social emotional
learning (SEL) into San Diego classrooms, supporting a cohort of 50 teaching
artists from 14 community arts organizations and delivering in-school arts residencies to
135 classrooms across 25 schools.
With support of the Executive Director and Administrative Coordinator, the Project Manager
will lead coordination between artists, schools, and partners; oversee scheduling and
residency logistics; support the rollout of a 60-hour expressive arts training program;
manage contracts, stipends, and data tracking; and serve as the primary point of contact
for participating schools. This role will also support in-school training for administrators
and help plan a culminating community event that showcases student work and program
impact.
Experience working with arts organizations or schools is a plus, and comfort juggling
multiple moving parts is essential. The position pays $30/hour, with flexible work hours and
the option of up to 30–40 hours per week, depending on availability and workload.
This role might be ideal for a recently early retired educator or school administrator with
strong project management skills and a passion for arts education and student well-being.
This role might also be a great fit for an engaged parent of a K-12 student who has strong
project management skills and is interested in work opportunities but doesn’t want to take
on a permanent role. This role might also be a great fit for a teaching artist who isn’t
participating in this program this year but is looking for additional work to supplement their
income. We encourage all interested parties to reach out and apply.
