San Diego International Film Festival (SDIFF)

The San Diego International Film Festival (SDIFF) will be hosting a special pilot event of their Focus on Impact Film Tour for San Diego Unified School District students on Friday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. This event will be virtual, synchronous, and will last one-hour, consisting of a screening of the short film “Li├ín,” a meeting with the filmmaker, and time for student group discussion (see attached flyer). After you register, you will receive a one-page pre-event resource guide as well as login information.

We believe that this film experience is appropriate for high school students in a variety of content areas including film, theatre, media arts, social science, ethnic studies or ELA. The 15-minute film touches on many layers of social issues, most notably immigration.
Students will access the event through SDIFF’s virtual village, which is fun experience in itself.

Interested teachers need to complete and return this form by end of the day March 17. Space is limited to 900 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Teachers should follow district field trip guidelines.

This is a pilot project of a new film short program that the SDIFF hopes to offer to SDUSD students next year. We would appreciate your participation and feedback.
