Hundreds of Student Art Displays to be Unveiled at San Diego Unified School District Exhibit – Tuesday, March 14, 2023

SAN DIEGO – Works of art from students of all ages spanning UTK through high school will
soon be displayed in the hallways at the San Diego Unified School District headquarters. More
than 500 paintings, drawings and other creations will be unveiled Wednesday, March 15 from
4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the annual District Art Exhibit. Student artists will be on hand to explain the
inspiration behind their work. The exhibit will remain prominently featured throughout the Ed
Center until April 6, 2023.

Background: The annual San Diego Unified Art Exhibit celebrates the creative and critical
thinking skills being developed by students of all ages from across the district. The various works
include paintings, drawings, photographs, and other forms of visual art. With a goal of
identifying creations that uniquely captured a student’s voice and vision, art educators
throughout the district were tasked with the difficult assignment of submitting the various
works to be shown.

For those unable to attend the exhibit in person, a companion online version featuring
approximately 350 works is available. The online exhibit includes a mix of creations shown at
the Ed Center, as well as additional material displayed exclusively online.
